The ornate, Victorian-style legs are almost identical to those used Lorch lathes of the late 1800s, but possibly of heavier section and with an additional cross bar towards the top. The compound slide rest micrometer dials - with their narrow knurled rim and two-diameter construction - are similar to those on the maker's backgeared and screwcutting model of the period 1910--1920. |
