A post 1946 Kärger  advertised using the communist East German WMW label and described as the Type DP3. Note the large micrometer dials, heavier tailstock casting and integrated drive system - and retention of the very old-fashioned but very useful wooden rear tool tray. The box gearbox/countershaft behind the headstock was almost certainly to give a range of both high and low speeds. 

Post WW2 Kärger Types DMG and DMGP with screwcutting attachments. These flat and V-belt drive models were intended for the production of small parts or as second-operation lathes
