The novel Weiler "follower-type" taper-turning attachment that left the standard cross-feed screw in place. The unit was replaced the standard cross slide and was, in effect, a replacement top slide with slideway adjustable to allow tapers up to be cut up to an included angle 30° and 300 mm long. The slide locking arrangement consisted of a plate bolted across the tailstock end of the bed connected to the slide by a steel bar. Although it was possible to leave the unit in place for ordinary turning, the makers recommended removing it to preserve accuracy for taper work.
