Introduced in 1949 - 50 years after the founding of the Company in 1898 - the Kearney & Trecker Model 2E was available in the usual plain horizontal and universal types, the latter with a swivelling table able to mount a dividing attachment driven by gears from the table feed screw. Accessories included five different vertical heads, one a useful high-speed, light-duty type with a double swivel mounting and a choice of a fixed or quill-feed spindle, a heavy-duty double swivel with a No.40 spindle taper, a heavy-duty single swivel with a No.40 taper, a "standard" high-speed universal, a slotting attachment, and a rack milling and indexing attachment.
