Found on a foot-treadle stand this Velox has survived in original, unmodified condition. Fitted to the spindle is a faceplate-cum-4-jaw chuck, once a popular fitting amongst impecunious amateur turners. Bearing a close resemblance to the type of stand used for sewing machines in the 1800s, this one is properly fitted with twin flywheels and a rather unusual treadle plate formed as a pair of foot-shaped rests.
