Located in Australia this lightly built backgeared and screwcutting lathe has helical backgears and an unusually deep bed. However, the rest of the machine is of much less robust construction, especially the (short) saddle, top slide, leadscrew bearings and the (broken) changewheel bracket. The cast-in vertical supporting ribs on the bed walls, general appearance and detailing (e.g. the cast-in tool tray) suggest a design date of between 1895 to 1910.
