Chard 20" Multi-Speed Manufacturing Lathe with raised headstock, toolpost and tailstock for 26 and 28-inch swing. As the lathe was designed for the production of plain-turned stock, no screwcutting was fitted and the feed rod driven through a three-speed, semi-quick change gearbox. To further help with production processes the tailstock spindle was powered by a pneumatic pump - with foot control.

Chard 16" Manufacturing (non-screwcutting) lathe. The headstock spindle ran in Timken taper roller bearings, was controlled through a multi-disc clutch and had eight speeds.
