A Mk.1 Alba 1A with its motor mounted on an adjustable plate at the rear of the main casting. This example has been modified by the addition of a countershaft carried on an angle bracket. When restoration of this machine finished, the drive lash-up will be replaced by a Newton-Tesla 1-phase-to-three-phase inverter-drive assembly to give infinitely variable-speeds.
