Carrying a label showing the lathe was once the property of the United States Government - and probably assigned to a workshop in Germany - this Model "AA" Wolf Jahn lathe is of the traditional 50 mm centre height WW (Webster Whitcombe) type. In original and largely unmolested condition (save for a missing feed screw on the slidrest) it survives complete with a contemporary 1/10th h.p."Watch-Craft" motor by the American C. & E.Marshall Company, both lever and push-spindle tailstocks, a triple screw-feed slide rest, a pump-centre faceplate, a correct ring-scroll 3-jaw chuck with face-reversible jaws and a tip-up hand T-rest. At the bottom of the page is shown the Type "AAA", another Whitcomb Webster type and lathe similar to the "AA" - but with the centre height increased to 60 mm and a gap bed s standard.
