A most unusual watchmakers' lathe with a capacity between centres of 9 inches and a centre height of around 2.5 inches. Equipped with rack-driven carriage, topped by a compound slide rest, the headstock takes only 6 mm collets - surprisingly small when judged against the machine's relatively heavy constriction. Using simple cap bearings - another strange departure from the standard normally expected on this class of lathe - the headstock casting looks as though it may have been form-milled and then hand finished.
