Unknown Lathes Home Page
Resident in Italy - and almost certainly manufactured there - this compact lathe has a centre height of 140 mm and takes 700 mm between centres.
For a small lathe the V and flat-way bed is unusual; the front V-way is not symmetrical in form but has a wider front section, set at a shallower angle than the shorter and more upright rear element. The idea behind this design was to slow down bed wear and improve the absorption of tool thrust; it was an idea in vogue from before 1914, but not taken up universally and one seen infrequently in the closing years of the 20th century.
