Unknown Lathes Home Page
Possibly of German or English manufacture and looking to have been made circa 1870 to 1900, this plain-turning precision lathe has a distinctive and unique form of bed feet. Unfortunately, the lathe is not complete: the headstock spindle thrust bearing is missing - it would have been mounted on two posts that fitted into holes at each side of the left-hand spindle bearing. In addition, although set up as a wood-turning lathe with a simple T-rest, a proper screw-feed compound slide rest has survived with the lathe showing to have been a high-class machine tool.
