Resident in Austria, this most unusual machine tool was acquired from a retired VOEST Machine Tool Company employee. It had stood unused for nearly 60 years in a shed - the owner knowing only that his father brought it home from a repair shop in the 1940s. The machine has no maker's name or insignia, nor any serial numbers.
Could this be a "combination machine" intended for use on board a ship? Multi-function units such as the Adcock and Shipley, Dainichi and Fuchs being commonly installed in such workshops to help with 'on-the-go' repairs.
