Unknown Lathe No. 122
- an early Watchmaker's Lathe -
Of the Webster Whitcombe type with a flat-topped, bevelled-edged bed, this watchmaker's lathe was intended for production use. A foot-operated, pedal-controlled collet closer is fitted and just one spindle speed provided. In addition, the tailstock spindle is also driven - again with just one speed - with the whole assembly suggesting its likely employment in a watch, clock or instrument factory.
