With elements appearing to be home made and others taken from a professionally built machine, this little 6-inch stroke shaper is bereft of any maker's mark.
Of interest in the very simple drive to the ram - and the method of varying the stroke by using one of several holes along the casting to take the end of the drive arm. While the powered version of the little Adept shaper used a similar system, on that model the stroke was varied by trapping the end of the drive arm in a machined T-slot - a method perhaps beyond the workshop facilities of our mystery builder.
Perhaps this was an incomplete machine found and put back, with some simple modifications, into working order - but the writer's best guess is that it was home built.
