The particular example shown was branded "Jardine" for a long-established Hong Kong trading company . Like the "Trident" the 38mm bore headstock spindle ran in adjustable tapered bronze bearings with a separate powershaft drive provided for the sliding and surfacing feeds that gave three rates of feed for every setting of the changewheels.
