Manufactured in the Netherlands, nothing is known of the company who manufactured the "Metalin" bandsaw Similar to the contemporary Startrite, Habegger and other makes offered during the 1950s, the Metalin was of the horizontal type with a continuous blade and fully automatic operation. Operation was hydraulic with control of the various functions by micro switches, electrical relays and magnetic valves. The number of cuts required was set on an electrical counter and the sequence of operations performed without human intervention; the machine stopped automatically when the pre-set number of cuts was reached.
