The Leinen WW lathes were based on the traditional Webster-Whitcomb American design, having a centre height of 50mm. The Leinen versions had a spindle bore of 8mm (maximum pass-through 7mm) and a bed onto which WW accessories, from any manufacturer, could be mounted. The collets specified were U8 DIN 6341 Cat.-No. a31/1-3. These had a largest through-bore of 4.4mm and a maximum blind-bore of 7.0 mm Modern pattern watchmakers' lathes can be seen here
