Not one of the better-known Japanese machine tool companies, Herter manufactured lathes, at least one milling machine (shown on this page and which lacked a Model designation) chucks, rotary tables, indexing attachments, machine vices and drill presses. Little is known of the Company's full range but sales in the USA during the 1960s were handled by what must have been a Japanese-owned Company, Diversified Tools & Equipment Co., as this was a Division of Herter Enterprises, Inc. When active, the distributor was based at 1201-09 N. Alameda Street in Compton, California 9020.
