Dolz & Slotta Home Page
As manufactured from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, this 150 mm x 900 mm, backgeared, screwcutting, power cross feed and gap-bed Dolz & Slotta lathe was typical of the lighter type of general-purpose workshop lathe offered by many makers at the time. One small but important notable feature that improved the grip of the flat drive belt was a jockey pulley, this being built neatly into the headstock casting and serving to wrap the belt more securely round not one, but both pulleys.
Despite its age, the rebuilt lathe below is still capable of being an effective and useful machine and should serve its owner well.
