Made in France, the Cri-Dan austomatic, high-speed threading lathe was handled in the UK by the Herbert machine Tool Group. A range of models was offers that covered most sizes on production threading need, these including the B, C, D-ATS, TT-260, F80, F150, FT80 and FT150.
Instead of a leadscrew, to generate thread pitches the CRI-DAN used a "lead cam". In addition to ordinary threads, the CRI-DAN could also hand multi-start thread of up to 12 starts. The full specification and method of operation can be found below.
