In remarkably original condition - even to the correct plastic knobs on the control levers - this geared-head Colchester Master from the late 1940s is unusual in having a full screwcutting and feeds gearbox when most surviving examples are changewheel models.
Spindle speeds on these lathes varied, some being carrying a plate showing a maximum speed of 660 r.p.m., some with 750 r.p.m. and, very occasionally. 1200 r.p.m.
