A complete data pack is available for the Atlas 10-inch & other Lathes
An interim Model, between the first rather light 10-inch model and the much-improved later versions, this Model D was manufactured during 1936. Many of the castings carry a 10D prefix, a way of confidently identifying the correct parts, though it is possible that some smaller items would have been carried over from earlier the model s and some parts from the D used on the next version, the long-lived power cross feed F.
The example shown below has been beautifully restored, but not overdone, the aim being to replicate a lathe as it might have appeared at a contemporary trade show when it was new. Of special note is the electric motor - a fine example of the owner's attention to detail.
The power cross-feed Model F. shown towards the bottom of the page, had been introduced in 1937 and lasted in this form until 1958 when it was replaced by an updated version that finally ceased production in 1981.
