In 1948 the James Archdale Company published a commemorative hard-back book "Archdale Machine Tools 1868-1948" - shown below are a number of the more interesting extracts. Unfortunately (and especially in comparison with the marvellous American Hendey factory tour illustrations), many pictures were sanitised by "art working" them before printing - and hence few give any feel for the realities of factory life.
