Aéro Watchmakers' Lathe

Other lathes for watchmakers

A typical 6 mm "Geneva" pattern watchmakers lath, the Aéro may have been a product of the Aéro Watchmaking Company of Neuchatel, Switzerland However, with lines and detailing very similar to the widely-copied models from the German makers Lorch and Wolf Jahn, it may not have been an original design - rather along the lines of the Australian Lanco, which the Aéro closely resembled. However, the lathe was of obvious quality and on a par with other European-made models; in addition, accessories from other makes appear to fit and so a useful kit might be made well be made up from disparate sources.. The Aéro is rare, though occasionally one does turn up, like the example shown in the first five pictures below for sale on eBay in February, 2020.
A longer-bed version was also offered, this having enough room to mount a full compound slide-rest assembly
If you have an Aéro lathe, or literature about the maker, the writer would be interested to hear from you.
