Giuseppe Garavaglia Heavy-duty Shapers
"Limatrici Rapide Ad Alto Rendimento"

Machine tool maker Giuseppe Garavaglia was based at Viale G. Gozzano, 42 Busto, Arizio to the north west of Milan, in Italy - a town known for its of involvement in the textile industry and today home to Pietro Carnaghi, a Company making very large vertical lathes.
By the 1960s Garavaglia were offering a range shapers that included one with both G and GG prefixes such as the 400 mm stroke Model G40, the 500 mm stroke Models G50, G50S and G50N (also listed as the Model "Atomic", the 600 mm stroke G.60N and G.60S, the 700 mm stroke G.70N and G.70s, the 750 mm stroke G.75N and G.75S and three double-column planers: the Models PG.90, PG.110 and PG.120 with strokes from 79 to 150 inches (2000 to 4000 mm) and planing widths of, respectively, 35.4, 39.4 and 47.2 inches (900, 1000 and 1200 mm).
While it appears unlikely that the Company's planing machines were exported to the UK, an effort was made to market the shapers with the agent, at one time, being Herbert Widdowson & Sons of Nottingham..
